Fork lift has a hard starting problem. Engine is not getting spark at plugs. Throws no error codes on dash. When or if it does start, it will run rough and then will shut down.
This is the repairs i have done already: regulator replaced, MAF sensor replaced, TPS sensor been replaced, the spark plugs, plug wires and coil packs been replaced, I checked grounds and fuses and switched several of the relays around. Nothing seems to help.
This Nissan does not have fuel injectors for each cylinder, it has fuel injector in throttle assembly. When I take apart the intake tubing to observe if fuel is being delivered to carb it is fine. it seems not to be getting any spark.
I am thinking it has a bad ECM but don't want to throw expensive parts at it. I don't a good code scanner. The only one I have doesn't retrieve codes. Only clear them.
The ash and ignition switch work fine. When i disconnect t5he tps or maf or an ignition coil I am able to get a code to pop up for that circuit. Then I clear it. Attempted to start and may hear a few sputterer but no codes come up. Sometimes it will start but then will die after a short time.

Re: Hard starting with no spark
Hello and welcome to fixaforklift.com
It can very well be a bad ecm, timing off, etc... it sounds to me that it is very well may be a wiring harness issue,
Spark is controlled by the ECM, is continuity is present from the ECM to the power wire of the individual coil then it really only leaves the ECM to be faulty, after checking visible timing marks on the Crank Pulley, ( Top dead center) if all is good then it is an electrical issue.
I would start by replacing the main wire harness this is a known issue with an average 5k nissan forklift,
