Nissan LP I have an error code on a forklift that says E-31 when I turn the key on or the truck is running. The forklift has troubles staying started when It first turns on in the morning. I have already replaced all the spark plugs, filters etc and it still won't keep running unless I press on the accelerator pedal for 30 seconds to get it to warm up.
I used some brake clean and cleaned all the electrical connectors because they were very dirty, applied dielectric grease and now it runs great. However, now the forklift is getting E-24 now as well. What does this error code mean? Also when i finally do get it fixed, how do I clear the error codes from memory?

Re: Error code E-31 on dash
To reset the codes on the dash just remember 3-5-7 it goes as follows:
Turn the ignition switch on with accel. pedal released, after 3 seconds fully depress the accel pedal 5 times within 5 seconds(end in released position). After 7 seconds(timing is very important...1 mississippi 2 mississippi etc....) press and hold down accel pedal for approximately 10 seconds(again timing) until the hour meter starts blinking, release pedal and push down and hold again for 10 seconds) hour meter should be on with no codes showing, shut key off and test to see if codes cleared.
See Error Code Chart
The Definition of DTC E24:
- The accelerator pedal position sensor 1 output voltage has been approximately 0.15 volts or less for a predetermined amount of time.
- System has detected disconnection by short circuit or open and turns the mil light on and sets code E24.
Just to help you with this accelerator released position learn here is how to do that
- Turn key on and count 2 secs
- Turn key off and count 10 to 12 secs
- Turn key on and count 2 secs
- Learn completed and key may be turned off
I would clean the throttle body and check all threaded connections that LP flows through
