Mitsubishi electric forklift has one of the tilt cylinders leaking hydraulic fluid real bad. Is this just the seal on the cap that is bad and needs to be replaced or is there a problem in the tilt cylinder or piston? Looking for a cheap fix without having to call out a forklift mechanic to charge me high labor.
If we can do the repairs in-house that would be best for our warehouse since we cannot afford to have the truck down for a long period of time.

Hello, and welcome to fixaforklift.com
Yes! if you contact a Mitsubishi Dealership that deals with power equipment they do sell a Seal kit for it. Make sure that there are no pitt's on the actual Chrome rod part, if there is it's best to remove and replace the whole tilt cylinder assembly or remove and sent out to a machine shop that deals with cylinder rebuild's
You would need a spanner wrench to open the seal cap and remove the rod, you will have to disconnect the rod side going towards the mast to gain access to the seal.
Remove and replace the seals and clean up any debris around the area.
